Cody Drive
Our clients had been living in this home for two decades when they reached out to us, and they were ready for an update to their family home. They were looking for a cohesive design that would transition well from room-to-room and make their home feel fresh and inviting. We started by painting the entire home; using a french grey as our primary color, and accentuating spaces with muted blues and greens. We then painted the existing yellow oak trim and doors a crisp white to brighten up the space and give the home a more polished look. The flooring was also ready for an update, so we installed new carpet through out the home and refinished the wood floors in a deeper stain to give us a touch of contrast. In the kitchen we wanted to create a space that felt brighter and less cluttered. This room already had wonderfully high ceilings, so we decided to stack the wall cabinets all the way to the ceiling to increase their storage and take full advantage of the space. We then removed the desk from their kitchen and replaced it with floor to ceiling pantry cabinets to give them even more additional storage. We selected a clean white shaker cabinet for the kitchen and complimented it with a marble inspired quartz. We had fun on the backsplash with a handmade blue tile installed in a herringbone pattern to add interest and texture to the space while maintaining the airy feel the clients were looking for. For their master bathroom we created an elevated design that allowed for a larger shower complete with a rain shower head and built-in bench. We also removed their existing drop in tub and replaced it with a beautiful free-standing tub highlighted by the surrounding wall tile. At the vanity we wanted to draw the eye to the vaulted ceilings, so we utilized a marble hex tile up the wall and installed ceiling lights above each mirror to accentuate the verticality. We were also able to increase the client’s storage and sneak in additional hidden outlets to meet their needs. We gave their powder room a little face-lift with freshly painted walls and a new vanity complete with a framed mirror and linen shaded light fixture. We selected pieces with clean lines and classic finishes for this space that allowed the details to shine through.
